I got called home Saturday night, but there is no kid yet. We have had two false alarms, one of which even had the Dr. fooled for about two hours before they sent us home.
AS far as climbing, I had a great time.
Dave is a pretty laid back guy, and mad for an enjoyable day of climbing. As far as a report goes, there is not that much to comment on. We hiked up to the lower slabs. I led Scuttle, a short, but very enjoyable. 5.5. Dave followed and cleaned.
We moved up the hill a little and top roped Discrepancy, a nice little 5.8.
We stopped and ate lunch, then made our way over to the east face of the north peak. Dave lead Rox Salt (5.7?). I tried to follow as quickly as I could to the anchors because it was very apparent that the rain was coming at this point. I rapped off in a small drizzle, and by the time Dave followed down, it was a full down pour. We walked out down the east face trail, and saw several parties trying to come down during the storm. By the time we reached the Roy Gap Road, we were soaked through and quite muddy. We sorted gear at the Princess snowbird pavilion and made plans for dinner at the front porch. I checked in with my wife, who was quite sure she was going to go into labor, so I packed up and headed home. By the time I reached the Spuce Knob turn off on the way home, it was clear and sunny out, and I was quite sure that I would miss out on a great day of climbing on Sunday.
